Dr. Anthony Augustine Sandi is a Public Health Specialist with 22 years of experience in the Public Health Sector. He has 11 years of knowledge and experience in Health Planning, Policy and Management.

He served as Director of Human Resources for Health in the Ministry of Health and Sanitation for eight years. During that period, he played a key role in Human Resources for Health, Planning and Training Policies Development.

His achievements include the introduction of computerized Human Resources for Health Data Management System in the Ministry of Health and Sanitation in 2009 and the establishment of the Health Service Commission enacted by the Parliament of Sierra Leone in 2009. He also played a lead role in the establishment of the Masters in Public Health (MPH) Programme at the School of Community Health Sciences, Njala University.

He served as an Advisor during the development of the Decentralization Plan for the Ministry of Health and Sanitation in 2004 and also played a lead role in developing a Training Manual for Nursing Aides in the Ministry with the aim of using them as Auxiliary Nurses in District Hospitals.

In addition to academic Qualifications, Dr Sandi went through several short-term professional training programmes and Seminars in Ghana, Ethiopia, Burkina Faso, Uganda, Switzerland and the United States of America.
