Dr. Sulaiman Lakoh is a Consultant Physician and Infectious Disease Specialist with over fifteen-year experience. \u00a0He has expertise and provides technical support and capacity development in antimicrobial resistance, HIV, tuberculosis, neglected tropical diseases, viral hepatitis, infection prevention and control, and emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases. He has strong background in epidemiology, leadership and governance, donor mapping, and health system strengthening. His expertise extends to community system strengthening, advocacy, education, and communication on health issues, and quality improvement initiatives.<\/p>

Dr. Lakoh holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, University of Sierra Leone, and two master\u2019s degrees\u2014MSc Infection Prevention and Control from the University of Dundee, Scotland, UK and a Master of Public Health from the University of Central Nicaragua, Guyana, South America. He is a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Sierra Leone.<\/p>

Dr. Lakoh is a member of the WHO Viral Hepatitis Guidelines Development Group and the Therapeutics for Ebola Virus Disease Guideline Development Group. He is the Ambassador for the Global Action Fund for Fungal Infections in Sierra Leone.<\/p>

He is a researcher and a Lecturer from the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, University of Sierra Leone. His research and clinical and public health practice have been primarily in sub-Saharan Africa, focusing on endemic and emerging infectious diseases, including HIV and co-infections, AMR, IPC and TB. His work has been funded by NIHR, Canadian Institute for Health Research, Pfizer, International Society for Infectious Disease, the Royal Society, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and the WHO Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases to tests and implements interventions aimed at improving international public health. His work provides a strong foundation for clinical and public health services. To date, he has published over 102 articles on infectious disease in Sierra Leone and across Africa, with h-index of 23, placing him among the top 7 researchers in Sierra Leone.<\/p>
