REPORT TO: The Director of Policy, Planning and Information; and the Minister of
Health
CONTRACT DURATION: Initially for 2 years and renewable thereafter with view of transitioning
into the Government of Sierra Leone Scheme of Service (Civil Servant)
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Senior Fellow-Digital Health’s primary responsibility will be to oversee the operationalization of the
Digital Health Roadmap 2023-2025, ensuring all stakeholders adhere to the intended actions, outputs,
outcomes, timelines, and resource requirements outlined in the document. The role is pivotal in
promoting partnership and collaboration, accelerating health outcome improvements, and achieving
UHC through an efficient and sustainable national digital health approach.
The Senior Fellow-Digital Health ’s secondary role will include provision of strategic technical support to
the MoH's Health Fellowship Programme with focus on upskilling cohorts of Fellows with digital,
programmatic leadership skills within digital health innovations. The Senior Fellow-Digital Health Fellow
will collaborate with various stakeholders, including healthcare providers, HMIS, M&E, Health Financing
Units, IT teams, directorates, programmes and management, to drive the MoH's digital health roadmap
and strategies with particular attention to translating health service delivery ideas into digital health
concepts, tools and applications.
Qualifications and Experience:
Desirable:
Highly qualified female or male, strong preference for female
Sierra Leonean (local and/or from the diaspora)
Expectations: (Candidates may have a combination of some or all of the following attributes)
A Masters or PhD degree in a relevant field, such as public health, health informatics, information
technology, computer science, data science, healthcare management, or a related discipline.
Additionally, an MBA (in progress/completed) or PhD is highly advantageous.
At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in digital health project management or a similar role
within the healthcare or other industries
