REPORT TO: The Director of Policy, Planning and Information; and the Minister of
Health
CONTRACT DURATION: Initially for 2 years and renewable thereafter with view of transitioning
into the Government of Sierra Leone Scheme of Service (Civil Servant)
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Senior Fellow will assist the HFU and MoH by providing technical support to develop and implement
the SLeSHI financing system. To excel in this role, the Senior Fellow must have expertise in health
economics and a broad understanding of digital health and health insurance systems. The Senior Fellow
will act as a Health Financing Analyst/Economist and will be responsible for supporting the MoH's health
insurance initiative, SLeSHI. Additionally, the Senior Fellow will provide top-quality health economic
analysis and reports concerning SLeSHI and other health financing initiatives and projects.
Qualifications and Experience:
Desirable:
Highly qualified female or male, strong preference for female
Sierra Leonean (local or from the diaspora)
Expectations: (Candidates may have a combination of some or all of the following attributes)
A master's or PhD degree in a relevant field, such Economics, Business Administration, as health
informatics, data science, business analytics, or a related discipline.
At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in health financing, health economics, or related fields.
Strong understanding of health financing concepts, health systems, and healthcare delivery models.
