Ministry of Health’s Pivotal Visit to Lumley’s Upcoming Children’s Hospital

The Ministry of Health (MoH), represented by the Honorable Minister of health, Dr Austin Demby and the Deputy Minster of Health 2, Dr Jalikatu Mustapha, recently embarked on a significant monitoring visit to the construction site of the Lumley Children’s Hospital. With a promise of 162 beds, this establishment stands as a beacon of the Ministry’s commitment to advancing healthcare in the region.

The Lumley community and its surrounding areas are bustling with life, and there’s an evident need for a healthcare facility that can cater to its growing population, particularly the children. Once operational, the hospital will not only address general health issues but will also offer a broad range of specialized services, ensuring that residents do not have to travel long distances for quality care.

Under the diligent oversight of the MoH, the pace of the construction has been fervently accelerated. The goal is clear: to have this state-of-the-art facility functional in less than 6 months, ready to serve thousands of children and bring relief to countless families.

The Ministry’s visit, more than a mere inspection, was a reiteration of its proactive approach to healthcare. It highlighted the dedication to ensuring that high-quality health services are not just a luxury but a standard accessible to all, irrespective of where they reside.

Lumley and its neighbouring areas are on the brink of witnessing a healthcare transformation, and with institutions like the forthcoming Children’s Hospital, the future indeed looks promising. The Ministry of Health, with its forward-thinking and action-oriented approach, continues to champion the cause of universal health coverage, ensuring every child, every individual, has the right to health.
