Innovative e-Wallboard for Health Data Visualization

The Ministry of Health and Sanitation expresses profound appreciation for the efforts of Jhpiego, one of the country’s prominent Non-governmental Organizations focused on health issues, for introduction of the e-Wallboard. With support from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Jhpiego recently showcased the functionality of their integrated e-Wallboard for interactive Data Visualization within the Ministry’s Conference Room on May 29, 2023.

Developed specifically for the Ministry of Health and Sanitation, this customized e-Wallboard application will revolutionize the visualization of health data, enabling timely insights and informed decision-making. By consolidating medical data from different sources, such as HIV, Malaria, and Maternal mortality, into one accessible platform, this app will significantly enhance the Ministry’s ability to analyse and interpret critical health information.

Ms Baindu Kosia, Jhpiego Country Director, reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to supporting the Ministry of Health and Sanitation. She emphasized the tool’s importance in generating accurate and up-to-date data, which will facilitate effective decision-making processes. Ms Kosia also highlighted how the e-Wallboard will empower healthcare professionals to make informed choices by identifying gaps and taking necessary actions based on the displayed information.

Furthermore, Jhpiego plans to extend the use of this tool to four additional districts, appealing to other donors for support in expanding its reach. The e-Wallboard will also be linked to the Ministry of Health and Sanitation’s website, ensuring seamless access and visibility of the data for relevant stakeholders.

Dr. Austin Demby, Minister of Health and Sanitation, commended Jhpiego for developing this transformative tool to enhance data collection and visualization capabilities within the Ministry. He also expressed gratitude to HRSA for their invaluable support in facilitating the creation of the e-Wallboard. Dr. Demby acknowledged the significant contributions of the American people to the country’s development and affirmed his belief in HRSA’s mission. He further stated that the Ministry is no longer burdened by challenges but is now focused on achieving their goals for the next 20 years, with Jhpiego’s comprehensive database playing a pivotal role in their efforts.

Dr. Demby emphasized that the e-Wallboard will streamline data collection, analysis, and interpretation processes, enabling proactive interventions and strategic monitoring. The Ministry will now be equipped to collect the desired data, scrutinize it thoroughly, and propose effective solutions to address any data discrepancies or gaps.

The event concluded with a demonstration of the e-Wallboard, showcasing its functionality and practical utilization. A question-and-answer session provided an opportunity for attendees to gain further insights into the tool’s capabilities and implementation.

The Ministry of Health and Sanitation, in partnership with Jhpiego and HRSA, looks forward to leveraging the e-Wallboard’s capabilities to elevate data-driven decision-making, ultimately improving healthcare outcomes and the well-being of the population.
