The Ministry of Health is pleased to announce the imminent arrival of the Global Mercy to Freetown. The Ministry of Health’s leader recently welcomed representatives from Mercy Ships for an enlightening press conference, marking a significant milestone in our longstanding collaboration.
The Global Mercy, known as the world’s largest civilian hospital ship, promises to significantly enhance Sierra Leone’s healthcare landscape. This collaboration aims to address crucial healthcare gaps, particularly in areas where our citizens need it most. Elective surgeries, many of which have already been scheduled, will play a pivotal role in this mission. The potential impact of these medical interventions is profound, offering improved health outcomes and renewed hope for many.
The Ministry of Health looks forward to the arrival of Mercy Ships ‘Global Mercy’ docking at the Freetown’s Water Quay Port. The ship is set to dock here for the next 10 months, and the Ministry are committed to ensuring a seamless integration of services to maximise benefits for our people.
